Honestly, most buildings on campus have air conditioning and slouchy sweaters are life, so who cares about what the sun has to say? If it’s hot and you want to wear a chunky knit sweater, do it. Wear t-shirts made from denim, suede or sweater material. Playing with texture is the perfect way to turn a basic outfit into something unique and trendy while not overheating yourself. Soft sherpa denim jackets, suede boots and impractically large fur coats are trending this year. When choosing fabrics to wear this fall, any sort of material that you want to bury your face in will work. Your makeup might melt off, but that in itself is a look. With Halloween around the corner, try a darker oxblood lip or a smokier eye. Experiment with your makeup and turn your face into a beautiful autumn tree. This fall, companies are coming out with burnt orange lipsticks and purple eyeshadows. Makeupįall fashion is not limited to just clothes. The circulating air makes it much more comfortable to wear. The tiny gaps will free you from sweaty sweater hell. If you’re not a fan of that, simply look for sweaters with very loose knit. Open backs and cold shoulders are moving their way into fall fashion trends. Avoid this by only buying clothes with large, noticeable holes. One of the things I hate the most about fall is boiling over in those stuffy coats. These clothes will have you asking, is it fall or summer? It doesn’t matter. Wear sweaters with shorts or boots with short dresses. Don’t put away your shorts and tank tops just yet. Officially, fall has begun, but let’s be real, seasons don’t exist here. Also, velvet and sweater crop tops give summer wear a nice twist. Personally, I own an oversized knit sweater with three-quarter sleeves and an open back. Have you ever wondered about the purpose of a sweater with giant holes or open-toed winter boots? In almost every other state, these non-functional clothes would cause frostbite, but in California, one person’s winter hell is another person’s fashion paradise. Florals are usually associated with spring, but an intricate floral pattern against a dark, muted fabric is more reminiscent of flowers that bloom during this time of year as well as autumn tones. Fall is all about feeling cozy and comfortable - and what’s cushier than your grandma’s couch? According to Elle Magazine, “couch florals” are making an appearance this fall.
